That’s a wrap… For now!

We have just returned from Whitstable after shooting for our AW12 catalogue. We had a wonderful time, the kids were fantastic, as were the parents… and the fish and chips weren’t bad either! The weather even held out for us! All in all a great success.

We are so excited for you to see the new collection, there are some adorable fashion pieces as well as the old reliable JoJo polar fleece, have we mentioned before it’s made from recycled plastic? But this all won’t be in stores till August and no one’s thinking about polar fleece on this beautiful day so I’ll keep quiet until then.

Our shoot in Whitstable went so well that the JoJo team got to head out for an evening and see what Whitstable had to offer, and believe me we were not disappointed by what Wheelers served up! They were the most delicious fish dishes any of us had ever had. I even tried my first oyster which wasn’t actually that bad (although the picture says otherwise). Desert was a whole other world of delight; we had apple crumble soufflé with salted caramel ice-cream. The chef, Mark Stubbs, kindly gave me the recipe to take home and try out for myself… after I’d proposed of course… I think he was rather frightened by my euphoria caused by his outrageously delicious desert, nothing to do with the wine of course!

We still have some bits and bobs left to shoot, so this will be done in the next couple of weeks in London, give us a wave if you see us out and about. We are also using our brand new studio in the London office which we are very excited about.

Just to reiterate Whitstable really is a lovely place, and I would recommend going for a visit, I will certainly be heading back at some point, just don’t tell Mark Stubbs I’m coming!

Alice, you make the shoot sound such a delight. We all know how incredably hard it is for the team and we know that toddlers and babies do not always smile (or face the camera) on cue! But when the weather holds out and the team work together and the parents are encouraging, being out in the open and seeing the little ones enjoy the beach is certainly a joy. But I agree, after the 19 years experience I have of baby shoots – that glass of wine at the end of the day is purely medicinal.

I would like to say a big ‘Thank You’ to the Jo Jo Maman Bebe team at the shoot in Whitstable. Our son William became involved quite by accident and had a wonderful few days taking part in the shoot on and around Whitstable beach and in the sea! All of the team were very professional and extremely patient with all the children, some who were very young. A special thank you to Alice, Tom the Photographer, and Chris – chief entertainer??!! for making it a fun experience for the kids and the parents too. You have a great team Laura!
