JoJo goes to Brittany

As Christmas is approaching so is the deadline for our new season catalogue!  As some of you may know we were looking for little models to join us on our trip to Brittany for our Spring Summer 2013 catalogue shoot. We recruited some lovely little models and they’re even lovelier Mum’s, and in some cases Dad’s, came along for the adventure that is the JoJo shoot!

This year we went to Brittany, Northern France, the birth place for JoJo and a fitting celebration for our 20th anniversary next year. During the first week we had the best weather we could ask for and the whole JoJo team ended up sunburnt!  I can’t complain though, the weather made shoots down on the beach even more enjoyable and the kids got to enjoy splashing around and building sandcastles. Brittany is stunning, the agriculture means many parts are still green and when you live and work in London this is quite beautiful!  I mean I’d forgotten how amazing clouds could be!

My role on the photo shoots is to make sure all the families know as much information as possible before we depart and make sure everything is arranged for their trip. Once we’re on location I take on the role of children’s entertainer!  There’s a lot of jumping, running, singing and my favourite…..cuddles!

One of the many challenges faced when doing a photo shoot with very small children is trying to get the little ones to wear their hats. I’m constantly popping hats on heads for them to be yanked off… check out the adorable Lawson he was running his own anti-hat campaign!  Still great shots that Lawson’s Mummy will get to keep forever and we even managed to get that all important shot with his hat on.

Nearly on!

Nearly on!

Aaaannnd it's off!

We had some special moments with little Poppy, I taught her her first word… .”Cheese”. I don’t know what else I expected!  We also tried to capture her first stand on camera, so close!!!

It’s such a privilege to work with such lovely parents, children and our marvellous JoJo shoot team. I’ve made some really great friends with some of the parents and children on the shoots and have even babysat when we’ve returned. It’s such a treat to share these special moments.

When we returned it was onto the look book shoot, this was shot in our London studio, some of the children who were with us in Brittany came along to help out, it was lovely to see them all again and the new design looks amazing. Here’s some behind the scene shots for you to see…. and a little sneaky peak of some new designs for next season. Enjoy! We hope you like the new collection as much as we do.

Remember if you would like your child to be considered for modelling with JoJo you can find details of how to apply here

Hi Alice! What a lovely article and photos, it brought back some fantastic memories! Poppy is now toddling around on her own – finally! – and doesn’t stop talking! She still says ‘cheese’ a lot so you’re always remembered. Thank you for the CD of photos and the wonderful trip; we can’t wait to see the brochure next month. Needless to say, Poppy’s getting more gorgeous and cheeky by the day and still has the happiest disposition so I hope there may be other opportunities in the future. I hope all is well with you and the team. Have a wonderful Christmas! Carrie and Poppy xxx

I have two little ones who just look stunning in their little Jo Jo outfits. My son looks perticularly photogenic & enjoys having his photo taken. Are you looking for any more little models? Thanks Katy
