Here at JoJo we love seeing photos of our little customers in their JoJo outfits. But getting your new baby to pose perfectly whilst you snap away is not always as easy as it seems. So we decided to ask our friends and mobile photographers Klickbooth for their top tips on taking photographs good enough for a frame:
Choose a time when your baby has just slept or had a feed as this is when he or she will be at their best. For newborns, it doesn’t matter if they fall asleep as you can create some wonderfully artistic shots this way.
Look for a nice bright space in your home that lets in lots of light, this will help you to get much softer images, plus you will not need to use the flash. Most digital cameras will allow you to turn it off.
We all love nice close up images of our new baby. To create good composition try to keep the eyes about a third of the way down from the top of the frame, this may crop the top of the head off but the final image will look better than trying to keep the whole head in.
Find a nice big comfy chair or sofa and lay down some nice white baby blankets, try to lie your baby down at a 45 degree angle (using cushions if necessary). Make sure you do not block out too much light, retaining a light source coming towards the baby.
Grab a colourful toy or rattle to get your baby’s attention. As your baby’s head moves to watch the rattle you can take shots in different positions and experiment until you get a shot you like.
Happy snapping and don’t forget to send us the pictures of your little ones to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll put them onto our Facebook Page!
