As part of our #JoJoTakeTwo campaign, we asked some of our mums at the London office about dressing their children the same. When we asked you on Facebook, unsurprisngly, there were many divided opinions!

Marketing assistant Steph, mum to Leo, 5 and Darcey, 2 writes about her experiences:

Do you like to dress your children in matching outfits?
I don’t really tend to dress the children in the same outfits but this is mainly because they are boy and girl. I know some people are not too fussed dressing their children in gender specific clothes but for me I like the fact that Darcey can wear girly clothes and maintain a feminine look. Although Darcey is very happy to climb all over the sofa and jump around she is still very much a girly child and enjoys playing with her tea sets and babies. Leo on the other had is very much a busy boy constantly moving, running and jumping all over the place so he needs good quality clothes that will last.  When shopping for the children I try to buy clothes that are stylish but it’s also important that they are of good quality, will last a long time and wash well. I tend to find myself buying both their clothes form the same shops, I guess you could say that their clothes have similar style and look about them.

Do your children often want the same clothes?
I think Darcey is a bit too young at the moment to ask or want the same clothes as Leo but who knows, they may like to in the future.

Were you made to dress the same as a sibling when you were a child?
I don’t think I was ever made to dress the same as my brother but I  do recall occasions in the late 80s and early 90s when my brother and I wanted matching clothes! I remember one day we specifically went out shopping with my parents to buy matching shell suits, they were not the same colour but we definitely looked cool!  Other times I can remember we had matching Global Hypercolour T-Shirts and LA Gear trainers but these were trendy at the time!

Retail marketing assistant Victoria, mum to Olly, 7 and Lucy, 5 writes about her experiences:

Do you like to dress your children in matching outfits?
No, they are different sexes and also have very different personalities

Do your children often want the same clothes?
No

Were you made to dress the same as a sibling when you were a child?
Only at Christmas time, when my mum would buy my brother and I co-ordinating outfits!!
